Fused Frenemies B.B
Phoebe's legs are back! But Sophie's aren't, and that's got her thinking...

A look of surprise flashed across Phoebe's face for a split second, then her tail seemed to twist in on itself and fold inside out at the same time, a pair of legs sprouting from the chaos, popping Phoebe up onto them with a bounce.
"Oh look! I morphed my legs back!" Phoebe celebrated, wiggling her arms in the air and extending her legs happily, reveling in her restored physical autonomy.
Sophie coiled her tail around herself, trying to will it to morph as she once had been able to, all too easily, but she felt nothing. She tried to morph her hand into a cube, her head into a cube, her entire body into a cube, but nothing. Previously even the thought of it would have made her body comply involuntarily! Now it seemed strangely...
Vulcanized, Sophie realized. Holly's experiment had worked! Sophie was no longer morphing reflexively!
"What? You can't morph?" Phoebe asked, noting Sophie's statically serpentine shape.
"No!" Sophie grinned. "This is awesome! My body is stable again!"
Phoebe laughed once. "Well, and your ass is a snake."
Sophie folded her arms. "Well, you seemed okay with it, so why not me?"
Phoebe clenched as her legs melted together and formed into a tail again. "Hey wait, I didn't want to do that--" Phoebe's tail morphed into legs again, "--Oh, that's better."
Sophie understood what was going on now. "I mean if you're okay being a snake person, why not be my pool floatie next? You owe me after all."
Phoebe clenched in surprise again as her body below the neck rapidly contorted before finally popping back out into the shape of an inflated pool ring, with Phoebe's head mounted on one side, dropping to the floor with a slight bounce. "Angh," she grunted. "Wait, is that how it was for you before? I have that now?"
Sophie nodded with a mischievous grin.
