Exploring swampy lands without proper equipment can be very dangerous. Which is exactly why the BCPU prison is surrounded by them. In the event a prisoner would manage to escape, they would not get very far. Between the low-hanging fumes and the slippery rocks, they would likely end up face-first in one of the poisonous swamps. Just what they deserve, as the punishment for escaping prison is death. This is why escape attempts don’t raise huge alarms, and the BCPU staff handles these situations calmly. The BCPU will still go after any escaped criminal, but they won’t be in a rush. As the area is highly surveilled by hidden cameras, they’ll know exactly where the criminal has ended up and they mostly just need to retrieve the body.
In this case, Officer Diana was on duty and received a call that a convicted criminal had escaped. He was serving 20 years for financing drug production which had gotten quite a few people killed. He had gotten this lenient sentence by ratting out some of his fellow criminals and this likely did not sit well with his fellow inmates. This, in turn, probably motivated his escape attempt.
After reviewing the footage of the escape, she made her way to the armory to gear up. She put on her Hazmat suit paired with some thick rubber gloves, and long rubber boots. If the criminal had gotten farther, Dianla would have needed to put on a mask with her own oxygen supply. But based on the camera footage, she would be fine with just a gas mask.
After a 10-minute stroll through the swamp, Diana found the criminal, who, as expected, had gotten stuck in a swamp. The toxins had already weakened his leg muscles, making him unable to get out. Even though his head was still above the “water”, Diana knew it wouldn't be long before his muscles would fully give out, leaving him at the bottom of the swamp. Without any help, he would have probably lasted not much longer than another 5 minutes, but luckily, Diana was already here, and she was more than happy to reduce that to 1 minute.

Had a few suggestions for long boots in some hazardous situations, and while I was enjoying the Elden Ring DLC, this idea came to mind. The background is based on a Elden Ring screenshot, and not representative of the lands surrounding the BCPU prison, but I will likely revisit them in the future.
Exploring a different rendering style. Originally, I had only painted the background and wanted to do the character regularly, but this way it blends together better.
Also, any rumors that the BCPU intentionally lets some criminals escape just so they would end up dying in the swamps are highly unsubstantiated and they wholeheartedly deny this.
