“MMMMMMMMMMPPPH!!!!” Chizuru angrily screamed through the tape over her mouth as the man held the knife in his hand, waving his finger back and forth, taunting the girl. Her toes, which had just been working on getting the knife closer, were left to curl in empty-footed frustration.
“Now now. You didn’t think I expected some scheme? I heard all about you when I took this job. ‘The girl who took down Famco’ is pretty infamous in my line of work”.
“MMMMMMMMMNN!!” The purple-haired girl just continued to stare angrily, growling at him.
“I was so close!”
“I have to give you some credit though, Miss Sakamoto. That was even more clever than the last one.”
“If I hadn’t intervened, they would have walked right in and exposed me.”
He took a second to check his phone before kneeling down in front of the bound sleuth.
“I don’t suppose you’d be willing to talk like a normal person if I take that sock out of your mouth?”
Charlotte’s face became visibly red at the mention of the sock. She really hadn’t expected it to find its way into her friend’s mouth like that; it was embarrassing to really think about.
“Sorry, Chizu-chan…”
“Nnnmm…” The girl hesitated for a moment, before giving a slight nod, never breaking eye contact with him as she did so while maintaining her glare.
“I need to stall him for as long as I can. There’s still another 25 minutes left!”
Her determined glare actually made him feel somewhat nervous, like she still had something to be confident about, despite how helpless she was.
“If you act up or try to scream for help, the ride back is going to be very uncomfortable for you. Is that clear?”
Chizuru’s eyes narrowed, but once again, she tipped her head in a slight nod.
“Okay.” He kneeled down and placed his fingers against the corner of the white tape covering her mouth. “Ready?”
“Mmmph!”
RIIIIIIP
“Blurghhh…” She spat out the now-drenched sock from her mouth, letting it plop into a moist ball on the carpeting.
