I was going to move on to something new I've been working on, but I have 2 quick context posts I want to do real quick. Both of these come from the current Alma event, where Flaxen is stripped of her title and they all spend a week or so in the Alman Neko Cities while Flaxen gets her new armor and tensions settle down. It's also the event where Indigo and Leena get married. We're in the middle right now, working on getting to the wedding and subsequent Beach Episode and Halloween Party. Okay. With that out of the way.

While Scin is working herself to death making all of the outfits for everyone for the wedding, because she offers to do so, the group will split up. Rena, Scin, Flaxen, Leena, and Red will be occupied for a bit, which leaves the players, Indigo, Irena, and Von. This group will receive word from one of Lumiere's patrols that something is messing with the river a little ways upstream of the City. Indigo will lead the group to investigate and deal with the issue. What starts as simply clearing out a Corrupted plant blocking the river, to keep it simple, turns into a fight for survival, as a large and insanely strong Corrupted monster attacks the group.

During this fight, Irena drowns in the river, but is rescued by Von, who used to be a lifeguard and saves her life with some CPR. During this he frantically Messages Juno, who has a special crystal that doesn't need Relays to connect to people, and begs her to get in contact with Rena, Scin, and Flaxen, so they can come and save the rest of the team from the Corrupted.

Long story short, the thing does some nasty damage to pretty much everyone involved before they manage to bring it down. Rena pushes herself way past her healing limit and passes out after puking up blood. Scin escapes relatively unharmed, as she does, and helps get everyone back to the City. Rena and Irena become the main focus being the ones who are worst off. But that focus quickly shifts to Scin as things settle down. She was already pushing herself to her limits staying up for almost 2 days straight working on the wedding things, and then right when she was about to get some rest, she had to mist Rena, Flaxen, and herself into a fight.

Needless to say she was very close to passing out herself by this point, not that she'd ever admit it. The summation of all of this talk, is the pictures we get now. Scin is forced by Flaxen to take a bed at the clinic and rest. The group will move to Rena and Scin's room to check up on them before she goes to bed.

This is one of the rare moments where the players get to see a more vulnerable Scin. With how I always put her up on a pedestal as an omnipotent machine, I also love reminding them that she's still just a normal person at the end of the day. Just like after Penance. So I made a reference to reflect Scin in another vulnerable state. There's a little more to add but that'll come in the next post.

For now let's cautiously admire a sleepy Scin. From a safe distance.
