I'm working on getting our next event ready for this weekend. We're going to be delving into Quinari's back story. It was the focus of the Lord of Decay post a few days ago. We're heading to Quinari's home village in Erusea called The Crick. The main story involves Quin's Great Grandma's sister Marabelle. Back when Quin's Great Grandma became the leader of the Crick, Marabelle got super jealous and basically pledged herself to a Major Demon to get revenge. She and the Demon created a plague known as Crick Rot, which is like leprosy but kills much faster, and started spreading it to all of the Crick Elves in the region.

Marabelle was defeated by the Crick Elves, but not killed. She managed to escape thanks to the Demon coming back to save her. The Crick Rot was cured for the time being. But now, like I don't know 100? years later, Marabelle is back. This time she's brought an even more potent strain of Crick Rot with her. Unfortunately, a pair of Crick Elves who were on patrol east of the Crick, were ambushed by Marabelle. The pair returned, with one gravely wounded, missing an arm and half a leg. Rena rushes to help him. In the process, the man, in short, goes full Nurgle and turns into a spewing mess of fluids and puss. Quin's mom, the current leader of the Crick, manages to pull Rena back before the guy goes supernova. But she was covered in his blood from trying to save him. Meaning she is likely infected.

Crick Rot was targeted at Crick Elves, but all types of Elves were able to contract it. With this new strain, it's a given it's going to be even more powerful and contagious. Rena is a half Elf... So she has to be quarantined until a new cure can be found. In the meantime, to help track down and kill Marabelle, through a bit more narrative I won't get into because I don't have all the room in the world, Olmstead sends support from San Salvacion to help support the players. Yellow Squad.

Yellow Squad takes its name from Yellow Squadron in Ace Combat 4. Their leader is "Yellow." Loosely based off Yellow 13. He's your standard by the books sword fighter. Very skilled and competent. Their second member is Jack. He acts as their tank and is pretty down to earth. 3rd is a Dwarf named Grimgar, named after the anime. Such a good show. He's a Slayer from Total War more or less. He's loud, arrogant, and loves getting suicidally close to his enemies so he can annihilate them with his "giant" axe. He's a Dwarf. It's like a normal axe. Lol. Lastly is Alexandra, who goes by Alex. She's a high born human from San Salvacion, but didn't feel like being a part of snooty upper society, and became an Adventurer. She's more of a Rogue. She's got a bit of an ego and a sharp tongue, but is a good person.

The Yellows know how to push each other's buttons but are very tight. Just like Lupa Team. We'll have to see how the players handle leading them into this fight without Rena there to call the shots. Should be interesting that's for sure. Can't wait.
