This post is a slightly weird one. Today I've got Admiral Eugen. He is based loosely off Merkatz from LotGH. The weird part is I already have a character who uses Merkatz's likeness. I kinda forgot about that when I was making this dude but I think he's just different enough that no one will notice. It'll be fine. Being an Admiral, and from Belka, I felt it would be proper to give him a solid German name, I.E., Prinz Eugen. Everyone knows the ship, the girl, both. You get it. I'm saving Bismark for something else down the line so yeah. Let's get into it.
Eugen is the Commander in Chief of the Belkan Navy, and has a very wild story that I came up with in like 5 minutes last night. During the Belkan War, Eugen led the main Belkan Fleet into Aulick Bay, where a massive battle was fought between them and the Osean Navy. The Belkans were eventually pushed back south of the Crescent Islands after both sides took significant casualties. Eventually the remnants of the Fleet retreated further east to Anfang and Dinsmark, and were sealed inside Huckebein's barrier.
After the Navy's defeat, Eugen remained in Dinsmark until the nation's formal surrender. Eugen was the ranking member of the Belkan military, because pretty much everyone else of higher station died in Gebet trying to TP out of the world. He was the one who officially signed Belka's unconditional surrender with Osean and several Coalition Generals present.
Eugen was placed under close guard in Dinsmark, where he resumed his work with the military. Regaining control of the remnants of Belka's troops, and making sure any rogue elements were designated properly for the Allies to avoid additional conflict, were a top priority for the remaining Belkan leadership. This went on for a short time, until Arius decided to start cleaning house.
Unlike the rest of Belka's failures in the upper echelon, Arius still held Eugen in high regard. With his options being joining Neo Belka or a quick death, Eugen made the simple choice to go along with Arius, joining them and becoming one of the primary leaders of the Neo Belkan rebellion in Stier.
From Eugen's perspective, this entire sequence is meant to be played out a lot like the NSMC rebellion on Heinessen in LotGH. With that in mind, Neo Belka is going to function a lot like A World with No Boundaries from Ace Combat Zero. A small but determined force made up of political and military supporters, who are fully devoted to the cause of maintaining Belka's place in the world. The best and brightest Arius could get to work with them from across the Hegemony, exiles from Leasath, and other radical elements, are all working together to resist the new order taking over Belka. They may seem rag tag, but they're incredibly strong, battle hardened, and unshakeable in their beliefs.
Neo Belka's leadership structure is deceptively competent. That's their biggest strength. In addition to Arius of course. It's gonna be a fun event that's for sure.
Enjoy.
