Most of Nerin's early life is mostly unknown, but for most of her life she lives a quite life around a group of islands known as the Echo Isles somewhere in the Atlantic Ocean. Mainly she collects treasures and artifacts from the sea floor from wrecked boats or old ruins that sank into the waters. Unfortunately, one day she was captured by an group of Marine-Biologists who put her in a tank, full on display at an Aquarium and was force to entertain. Thankfully with some help, she was able to escape and flee back to the sea. From then on out she has a fear of humans, aside from one who helped her escaped. Later on in time, she finds an unconscious looking human with wings and saved him. He later revealed his name as Allen and he and Nerin started to form a close bond, even after disagreements and strong feelings were expressed early on and finally mending later on. Nerin watches Allen and his friends save the Echo Isles from a horrible threat and wishes to be a strong as them, so she joins them on their quest so become braver and learn how to defend herself and protect others, but her travels will mean she will have to be a fish out of water.
