Rice Shower is tied with Suzuka for my favorite from Pretty Derby. I'm so glad I saw her story in the game before I started Season 2 of the show because the anime didn't give her anywhere near the justice the game did. Her story is so freaking good. Coincidentally, I got a free 3 Star ticket for some random achievement yesterday... You'll never guess who I got... So now we have Fortuna! Based off Rice Shower from Pretty Derby. Let's go!

Fortuna is another character I'm quickly adding last minute to Sand Island, right after Rory joins. The players will be busy getting to know her when Rena casually strolls in to introduce yet another new face. Rena. "Heeeeeeey. Sooooooo. Ha. Haha. Got another little surprise. Eh. Heheh. Turns out the Rear Admiral is a bit of a prankster. And decided not to mention the other addition to our group... Ha... Ha... So anyway. Here's uh... Here's Fortuna. From Erusia. Yay! It's raining Neko!" Since I don't have an analogue for Pegasi in my campaign, I only really have Neko and Wolkfin, I'm throwing these 2 in as Neko like I did with Leena/Platinum. It's just easier to handle.

Fortuna is like I put up there, from Erusia. I have not had time to make a full back story for her yet. Right now she's back on Sand Island to retake her Elite Class because she failed it the first time. Rena has a lot of respect for her for coming back to try again. Becoming an Elite is not easy, so retaking everything shows just how much willpower and fortitude Fortuna has. Which works out very well considering Rena, Major Dyan, and Hrim are running this class, and they will be pushing their trainees as close to death as safely possible.

Personality wise she's on the shy side and not super confident in herself, but doesn't have to work through that inferiority complex Rice has in the game/anime. She's not here to fail again and plans on pushing herself as hard as she possibly can to pass. Fortuna is a back line caster. I don't have a more specific class for her at the moment. She's definitely a DPS though. She's also not half bad with her dagger. Maybe a low threat Rouge like Caster? Hmm. Neat. I also added a few references for her training outfit too. So everyone can match.

I thought for a little bit on a good name for her and ended up with Fortuna, which comes from the Roman Goddess of luck and good fortune. I don't really think I need to go too deep with that it's pretty self explanatory. No more misfortune we're all about happy accidents and lots of crits. :D I thought it would go really well with Rice's story book lore and all that. Maybe Fortuna will also love story books... Well that gives me a great idea to screw with my wife. TLDR the entire main story of the campaign parallels the Razgriz. I have a copy of A Blue Dove for the Princess sitting behind me. She has no idea she can figure out the campaign's major twist by reading that book. Maybe Fortuna will have a copy with her. Hint at the Late Game a bit. Hehe. That'd be fun.
