Xochitécatl Noblewoman warrior with serpent helmet and square shield (650-850)
Xochitécatl (“the lineage of flowers” or “people from flower city” in Nahuatl) was an old ceremonial site and urban area. It’s probably founded on 1000 or 600 BC but the most important occupation was register in 650 to 900 AC. Xochitecatl habitants in this period probably war related with Cacaxtla people. This event is characterised to one of the most important events on Mesoamerica history, the Teotihuacan’s fall and posteriorly new state formations before Tollan (or Tula) foundations and expansion.
Xochitécatl was characterised to women clay figures and woman’s cult. Some figure represent important women with war implements like shields and helmet with Teotihuacan influence.
